About Adtrade

The platform, its participants and how to get started.

What is Adtrade?

Adtrade is a platform for partnerships between advertisers and publishers. Advertisers create affiliate programs, while publishers recommend products or services through their channels. The portal lets both parties manage partnerships and follow recorded clicks, transactions and commission. Learn more about Adtrade.

How does a partnership work?

The advertiser defines the program terms and which events earn commission. A publisher applies with a channel and uses tracking links once the partnership is approved. When the advertiser’s integration reports an eligible event, a transaction and commission can be recorded under the program rules.

What can I manage in Adtrade?

The portal brings together programs, channels, applications, campaigns and reports. The features you can access depend on your account type and permissions. Refer to the actual program terms and installation guidance when assessing a partnership; advertisers do not all operate under identical arrangements.

Who can use Adtrade?

Adtrade offers advertiser and publisher accounts. Businesses can apply to promote their products or services, while publishers apply with a channel that reaches a relevant audience. Registration is the first step; accounts, channels, programs and partnerships may need review before they become active.

What is the difference between an advertiser and a publisher?

The advertiser supplies the product or service and sets the program terms. The publisher promotes the offer through content, comparisons or social media and can earn commission on approved results. Explore the advertiser role and the publisher role.

How can I contact Adtrade?

Use the contact page for questions about getting started, an existing account or a technical integration. Explain what you want to achieve and include the account, program or order reference where relevant. Do not send passwords, API keys or unnecessary customer information in a support request.

Can a program cover several markets and currencies?

Programs can have market settings and commission rules that must match the sales being reported. Check which markets and currencies apply to the particular program before promoting it. An offer or commission rate should not be assumed to apply in every country.

Affiliate marketing

Understand links, commission and attribution.

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a partnership in which a publisher helps an advertiser reach customers and is rewarded for agreed results. A result might be a purchase or a qualified enquiry. Each program defines which results earn commission and which restrictions apply.

How does a network differ from an affiliate program?

An affiliate network or platform connects multiple advertisers and publishers and provides tools for their partnerships. An affiliate program is an advertiser’s specific arrangement, with its own terms, events and commission rules. An advertiser can have several Adtrade programs, and a publisher can apply with different channels.

What do CPA, CPL and commission mean?

CPA usually refers to payment for an agreed action, often a purchase. CPL refers to payment for a qualified contact or enquiry. Commission is the publisher’s reward under the program rules and may be a fixed amount or a percentage. The actual program terms determine eligibility, not the abbreviation alone.

What are attribution and the tracking window?

Attribution determines which partnership a reported result can be assigned to. A click ID connects an event to the recorded click, while program rules can limit how long a click remains eligible for commission. Check the program’s tracking window and terms; an old or invalid click does not automatically qualify for payment.

Does a publisher get paid for every click?

Not automatically. A click shows that someone followed a tracking link, but commission is calculated for the events and conditions defined in the program. Always check which results are rewarded and whether restrictions apply to channel types, markets, discount codes or customer types.

For advertisers

Programs, partnerships, commission rules and reporting.

How do I become an advertiser?

Start with the advertiser registration and provide accurate company and contact details. In the portal, you can prepare your program and read the agreement. Creating an account or a program is not the same as having a reviewed and approved program.

How do I launch an affiliate program?

Create and configure your program in the portal: describe the offer, set permitted channel types, markets and commission rules, and prepare tracking. Your account must accept the current advertiser agreement before the program can be approved. Test the integration with a test order before inviting publishers.

Which businesses can apply?

Businesses looking to promote products or services can apply as advertisers. Describe your business model, website and the event you want to reward, such as a purchase or enquiry. Adtrade needs to assess the arrangement and tracking, so an application does not guarantee approval for every business or marketing method.

Can I set and change commission rates?

The program defines which events earn commission and how rewards are calculated. General rules and partnership-specific terms may both apply. Check the agreement and any notification requirements before changing rates. Do not assume that a rule change recalculates transactions already recorded.

Can I choose the publishers I work with?

You can review applications and choose which channels may work with your programs. Programs can also have rules for automatically approving certain applications, so check that setting if you want to review each application yourself. The channel type and program rules affect which partnerships are eligible for approval.

How do I monitor sales and approve transactions?

The dashboard, Performance report and transaction lists help you follow recorded activity and commission. Transactions may await review or be approved according to the program settings. Check order records, returns and program terms during review; a technically recorded event does not automatically mean that commission has final approval.

How much does Adtrade cost?

Ask Adtrade for the current commercial terms for your arrangement. Distinguish the commission your program offers publishers from any fees specified in the advertiser agreement. This FAQ does not set standard prices, commitment periods or fee exemptions. Contact Adtrade for a specific proposal.

For publishers

Channels, applications, links and earning from your content.

How do I become a publisher?

Register through the publisher application and complete your details. Then add the channels you want to use. Your account must accept the current publisher agreement before Adtrade can approve your channels. An approved channel is not automatically accepted into every advertiser’s program.

What types of channels can I add?

The portal includes channel types for content sites, comparisons, discount codes, cashback, social media, newsletters and apps. Choose the type that accurately describes your channel and provide its address where available. Each program can restrict the channel types or promotional methods it permits.

Do I need a website, or can I use social media?

You do not always need your own website: social media accounts can be registered as channels. Describe the channel and audience you actually work with, and follow both the social platform’s rules and the advertiser’s program terms. Having an Instagram or TikTok account does not mean every program permits promotion there.

How do I find and apply to relevant advertisers?

Explore the advertiser directory and use the portal’s categories and search. Read each program’s terms, commission rules and permitted channel types before applying with the appropriate channel. Follow the application status in the portal; submitting an application does not mean it has already been approved.

How do I earn commission and track results?

Commission can be recorded when your promotion leads to an event that meets the program terms and is reported correctly. Follow clicks, transactions and commission in the dashboard, Performance report and portal lists. Distinguish pending, approved and paid commission when reviewing your results.

Why might a transaction be rejected?

Possible reasons include a cancelled order, a return or failure to meet the program terms. Check the transaction and the relevant partnership rules before contacting support. Include the order reference and timing when asking about a specific record; missing commission alone does not establish that a technical fault occurred.

Accounts and partnerships

Permissions, reviews and changes to your account.

What needs approval before I can start?

Accounts, channels, programs and partnerships are separate and can have different review statuses. A publisher needs an approved channel and partnership to promote a program under its terms. An advertiser’s program also needs approval. The account must accept the relevant main agreement before a channel or program can be approved.

Where do I accept the agreement?

If the current main agreement has not been accepted, an agreement panel appears on the overview and relevant channel or program pages. An account administrator or editor can read and explicitly accept that version there. The Agreements page also retains previous acceptances. Reading a public PDF does not record acceptance.

Can several people work in the same account?

Authorized account members can invite other users and assign roles through account user management. Each person should use an individual login rather than sharing passwords. If you can access multiple accounts, check which account is selected before making a change.

How do I update company and contact details?

Open account settings in the portal and edit the fields your role permits. Keep contact, tax and payment information current, as it may be used in agreements and financial documents. A profile update does not replace any separate agreement or review that may be required.

Can I rename a channel?

An authorized publisher user can change a channel’s name on its detail page. The name is a display label; renaming a channel is different from creating a new channel with a new identity and history. If the underlying business or promotional method changes, contact Adtrade about the appropriate description and review.

How do I pause or end a partnership?

Open the partnership details in the portal and check which actions your role permits. Pausing, giving notice and ending a partnership can have different meanings and conditions; a pause does not automatically terminate an agreement. Check any notice periods and contact Adtrade if the applicable terms are unclear.

What if I cannot sign in or need help?

Use Forgot password if you have lost your password. Check that you are using the correct email address and account if you have several memberships. For other issues, use the contact page and describe the problem without disclosing login credentials.

Tracking, reporting and integrations

Installation, troubleshooting and interpreting recorded activity.

How is a purchase or conversion recorded?

A tracking link provides the record of a valid click. The advertiser’s integration must then report the relevant event, such as a purchase, with the information required by the program. Adtrade checks the event and commission rules. Loading a tracking script on a page does not by itself prove that a purchase transaction was recorded.

Which integrations and API options are available?

The installation guide in advertiser account settings covers manual installation, server requests and platform examples. Resources are available for WordPress/WooCommerce and PrestaShop, along with instructions for a custom Shopify pixel. Those Shopify instructions are not a ready-made app. See the API reference and grant only the permissions your integration needs.

How do I troubleshoot a missing transaction?

Collect the evidence before resending an order:

  • Check the program, channel, market and whether the partnership was approved.
  • Check the click, consent choices, order reference, amount, currency and timing.
  • Review the integration response and relevant click and event logs in the portal.

Keep the same order reference during troubleshooting. Do not invent a new reference to bypass an uncertain response. Contact Adtrade if you need help interpreting the records.

Why do click, event and transaction counts differ?

Clicks, events and transactions are separate records. The event log may include blocked or duplicate events, and not every event creates commission. Reports can use different dates and status filters. Processing delays can also mean that a new record appears at different times in different views.

What do Performance, conversion rate and EPC show?

Performance compares activity and results by advertiser or publisher for the selected period. Conversion rate and period EPC relate transactions with recorded clicks to the period’s clicks; purchases may originate from earlier clicks. Manual transactions without clicks do not enter these ratios. Read the report’s information panel for date, status and currency boundaries.

Can exclusive discount codes work without a stored click?

A separate option supports explicitly enabled exclusive campaign codes when no stored click exists. The shop must report the purchase through the appropriate authenticated integration, and the code’s program, channel, market and partnership must be valid. A code must not replace an existing click. An ordinary discount code is insufficient, and the option is not enabled automatically for everyone.

What happens when an order is returned or cancelled?

A return or cancellation can affect whether a transaction should be approved, adjusted or rejected under the program terms. The advertiser needs to keep Adtrade records consistent with order handling. Do not assume that every shop system reports returns automatically; check what the chosen integration actually supports.

Payments and commission

Understand amounts, statuses, invoices and payout documents.

How is commission calculated?

Commission follows the rules that apply to the event and partnership. It may be a percentage or a fixed amount, and a channel- or publisher-specific rule can affect the result. Check the recorded calculation basis, currency and rule on the transaction instead of assuming that every purchase uses the same percentage.

What does a pending transaction mean?

A pending transaction has been recorded but has not received final approval. It may need to be checked against order records and program terms. A pending amount should therefore not be treated as already paid or unconditionally earned commission.

When is commission approved?

That depends on the program, the order status and the partnership terms. Some programs may use automatic approval, while other transactions are reviewed. This FAQ does not specify one approval timetable for all advertisers. Check the program terms and ask about the particular transaction if needed.

Why might a commission amount change?

Checking the order value, returns or other program conditions may reveal that the transaction basis or status needs correction. Assess changes against the relevant program and financial records. If an amount appears incorrect, give the order reference and explain which source you are comparing it with when contacting Adtrade.

How does advertiser invoicing work?

Invoices and supporting records are handled in the portal under the agreed arrangement. Check which transactions, commissions and any fees are included. Refer to the actual invoice and agreement for due dates and other payment terms rather than assuming them from a general FAQ.

When and how are publishers paid?

Payouts require the appropriate records and necessary account, tax and payment information. The portal distinguishes documents such as self-billing invoices for applicable business accounts and private-person payout statements. Self-billing requires separate acceptance of its terms. Check your records and agreement for timing and conditions; approved commission does not mean the money has already been paid.

What do display currency and the ≈ symbol mean?

Display currency helps you compare amounts in the portal. The ≈ symbol marks an estimated conversion using an available reference rate. Transactions, invoices and exports retain their original currencies. Use original amounts and financial documents for reconciliation; an estimated display amount is not a guaranteed exchange or payout rate.

Security, privacy and rules

Your information, consent and responsible promotion.

How does Adtrade process personal data?

Read the privacy policy for information about personal data processing and how to contact Adtrade about it. An order reference, technical identifier or IP address may need assessment in its context. Do not send more customer information than the integration or support issue requires.

Do affiliate links need advertising disclosure?

Commercial promotion must be clearly recognizable as advertising. Make the commercial relationship and the advertiser apparent to the visitor; do not hide disclosure only in general terms. Follow program and platform rules as well. For promotion in Sweden, consult Konsumentverket’s guidance on social media advertising and check the rules for your market.

Which rules do I need to follow as a publisher?

Follow the program terms, your channel’s rules and the laws applicable in the market where you promote the offer. Some methods may be restricted, including search advertising, discount codes or promotion in particular channels. An approved account is not blanket permission to use every method or trademark.

How does Adtrade approach quality and security?

The platform uses access controls, channel and program reviews, and technical checks on incoming events. Relevant logs can help investigate discrepancies. These controls are not a guarantee against every error or misuse; provide accurate information, test your integration and contact Adtrade if you notice suspicious activity.

Which agreements apply to advertisers and publishers?

Advertisers and publishers each have a main agreement. Separate terms apply where self-billing is used. Public reading copies are available under Terms and agreements; account versions and recorded acceptances are in the portal. Also check the terms of each individual program and partnership.

How do I protect logins and API keys?

Use individual logins and do not share passwords. Give API keys only the permissions needed, and never place a secret key in public JavaScript, an affiliate link or a support message. Revoke a key that may have been exposed and check affected integrations. The API reference explains authentication.

Still need an answer?

Tell us what you need help with and we will help you find the next step. Include a relevant program or order reference, but never passwords or API keys.
